Received his PhD in 1996 at FEUP, in the area of Computer Graphics/Image Synthesis and Parallel Computing. He has been teaching in the same Faculty since 1983 in areas related to Computer Architectures and Computer Graphics. His expertise is focused on the area of Computer Graphics, namely Image Synthesis, Illumination Design and Virtual and Augmented Reality.
António Fernando Coelho is Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto where he teaches in the areas of Computer Graphics, Programming and Digital Games. He is the director of the Doctoral Program in Digital Media at the University of Porto, member of the Board of Advisors of the government program UT Austin | Portugal and member of the Board of Advisors of the MIL (Media Innovation Lab) of UP.
He is also a senior researcher at INESC TEC and coordinates the Computer Graphics and Virtual environments area of the CSIG (Center for Informations Systems and Computer Graphics).
Graduated in Systems and Informatics Engineering at Minho University in 1998. During his PhD he researched in the area of 3D reconstruction from Images divided between Philips Research, Eindhoven, and Minho University, until he concluded in 2006. He worked in the industry in the field of interactive systems, until he joined FEUP as Invited Assistant Professor in 2009, to teach and research in the areas of Computer Graphics, Interaction and Gaming. He is also a collaborator at INESC TEC/INESC Porto. Currently he is also the director of the Multimedia Masters of University of Porto .
Rui Nóbrega is a post-doc researcher at INESC TEC and an Invited Auxiliary Professor at University of Porto in the Faculty of Engineering (DEI-FEUP). He has a Computer Science Ph.D. degree (Doutoramento em Informática) and has been involved in several computer software projects in collaboration with private companies, public institutions and academia. He studied at the Faculty of Science and Technology in the NOVA University of Lisbon, obtaining degrees in Computer Science (Ph.D.) and Computer Software Engineering (M.Sc., B.Sc.).
Holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Universidade do Porto in the area of computer vision (2009). Currently he is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics Engineering, Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, and a researcher at INESC TEC. Previously he was a researcher at INESC Porto (2001-2008), Visiting Researcher at the University of Victoria (2006), and Senior Scientist at Fraunhofer AICOS (2008-2013). His current research interest include: computer vision, machine
learning and interactive systems
Got his Masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2001 and his PhD in scientific information management and spatial-temporal information visualization, with the final classification with honors in 2009, both at FEUP. His main areas of interest are computer graphics and information visualization, in particular spatio-temporal information.
Graduated in Electrical Engineering at FEUP in 1972, started teaching that same year. He received his Docteur-Ingénieur degree in Génie Informatique (Informatics Engineering) at École National Supérieur d'Informatique et de Mathematiques Appliquées de Grenoble, France, in 1981, the PhD in Computers and Electrical Engineering at FEUP in 1982, and is a Full Professor since 1993. He has been involved for a long time in Computer Graphics and GIS, and he has an avid interest in natural interaction.
PhD candidate in computer science carrying out the thesis, under guidance of professors Leonel Morgado (Uab), Hugo Paredes (UTAD) and António Coelho (FEUP), in the area of behavior change using serious games on mobile apps.
