Welcome to the IEEE ISC2 2026!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IEEE International Smart Cities Conference (ISC2) is the annual flagship event sponsored by the IEEE Smart Cities Technical Community. It brings together researchers, engineers, practitioners, students, and urban planners from academia, industry, and public authorities to present and discuss cutting-edge research and practice in Smart Cities, sustainable communities, and urban planning. The conference provides a multidisciplinary forum for exchanging ideas and experiences on emerging developments in theory, analytical and numerical modelling and simulation, experimentation, advanced deployment, and real-world case studies that address the complex challenges of contemporary urban environments and ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continuing its tradition of scientific excellence, the 12th edition of IEEE ISC2, is technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Portugal Section and co-organised by the IEEE ITS Society\u2019s Artificial Transportation Systems and Simulation technical committee. It will feature distinguished plenary keynote lectures, thought-provoking panels and roundtables, high-quality technical and poster sessions, exhibitions, as well as industrial panels and demonstrations. The Smart Cities technical communities are warmly invited to contribute their latest research results and applied case studies, and to engage in lively discussions on the trends, breakthroughs, and innovative approaches shaping the smart cities of the future. Workshops and tutorial sessions will be offered on the day preceding the main conference, and accepted papers will be submitted for possible inclusion in IEEE Xplore, subject to meeting IEEE Xplore\u2019s scope and quality requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond its rich technical programme, IEEE ISC2 will offer a memorable social programme, providing valuable opportunities for networking, collaboration, and informal exchange among participants from around the world. These moments are designed to foster new partnerships, strengthen existing collaborations, and encourage cross-disciplinary dialogue in a welcoming and inspiring setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 12th edition of IEEE ISC2 will be held in the vibrant city of Porto, Portugal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and widely regarded as one of Europe\u2019s most beautiful cities. Situated on the north-west coast of Portugal, Porto is celebrated for its rich history, striking architecture, and iconic bridges gracefully spanning the Douro River, as well as for its world-famous port wine. The medieval Ribeira riverside district, with its narrow cobbled streets, colourful merchants\u2019 houses, and lively caf\u00e9s, provides a distinctive and inspiring setting for both scholarly exchange and cultural discovery. Well connected to major international airports, Porto serves as a gateway to northern Portugal, offering easy access not only to the city\u2019s dynamic urban life but also to the breathtaking landscapes of the Douro Valley.
