Mission
The Pervasive Computing Lab operates in an ecosystem that aims at high visibility of future applications in several technologies, covering the entire spectrum from sensing to high performance computing and in the cloud. The lab focuses on the conceptualization and development of applications across the entire spectrum, considering stringent requirements related to consumption, power, performance, reliability, privacy, secure operation and protection of these applications.
The laboratory supports research projects, experiments and tests involving sensors, embedded, mobile, cloud and distributed computing in pervasive environments. It is a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary laboratory, transversal in terms of the different areas of Computer Science Engineering and Computing. It aims to provide state-of-the-art technologies and to stimulate the use of these technologies in the evaluation and creation of future new and innovative applications and technologies, namely in the context of the Internet-of-Things (IoT).
The lab also intends to strongly contribute to new ideas, experimentation, and prototype development, using various technologies synergistically, and possibly including cyber-physical and IoT (Internet of Things) applications and systems.
