Graduated in Electrical Engineering at FEUP in 1972, started teaching that same year. He received his Docteur-Ingénieur degree in Génie Informatique (Informatics Engineering) at École National Supérieur d’Informatique et de Mathematiques Appliquées de Grenoble, France, in 1981, the PhD in Computers and Electrical Engineering at FEUP in 1982, and is a Full Professor since 1993. He has been involved for a long time in Computer Graphics and GIS, and he has an avid interest in natural interaction.
